Job Description:Audio staff are one of the key components contributing to successful drum corps performances. Audio engineers are responsible for maintaining and deploying audio systems for rehearsals and performances, which heavily rely on consistency. Engineers are expected to be flexible and creative, as much of the position requires critical thinking to troubleshoot inconsistencies and solve problems to ensure that all systems are operational day-to-day. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure and comfortable working with others in a collaborative environment. This position is a touring position, and applicants need to be comfortable working in close quarters with other staff members and non-standard hours when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:The audio engineer position is responsible for maintaining, deploying, and operating the performance audio system for drum corps rehearsals and performances. This includes day-to-day maintenance of all hardware and digital systems. Audio engineers are also expected to supervise performing members to ensure proper care and deployment of all equipment for rehearsals and performances.
Requirements
Preferred skills: Experience operating digital mixing consoles
Experience working with wireless audio equipment and Shure Wireless Workbench
Experience working with digital audio workstations such as Logic or MainstageKnowledge or experience working with or performing with marching arts organizations (DCI, BOA, WGI, etc.) is not required.Required Qualifications: Candidates must be 21 years of age or older to apply.
Candidates must be available for a minimum of 4 total weeks during the 2025 DCI tour, generally broken into two segments of 2-3 weeks each. Scheduling is flexible and based on the availability of the entire audio team.Compensation: Compensation will vary based on experience and availability.
