Brian McKenzie is a musician, engineer, and educator based in Kennesaw, Georgia. A native of North Carolina, Brian received degrees in music performance and music industry studies from

the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University. Brian began his career as a contract performer and technician, while also maintaining a job in music equipment sales. His work has included playing drums for an international ad campaign directed by MKTG, as well as seasonal performances at music, arts, and cultural festivals across the country. He currently owns an operates Para Machina, a private music and production studio, and is the percussion

director for Roswell High School. Brian consults and acts as sound/technical designer for music ensembles across the southeast region, including the Georgia State University Panther Band and Atlanta Quest. Between 2017 and 2018, Brian worked with the Bluecoats Drum &

Bugle Corps on their productions “Jagged Line” and “Session 44”. He then joined the Boston Crusaders, where he worked as technical designer and producer from 2019-2023 on their productions, “Goliath”, “Paradise Lost”, and “White Whale”. In 2024, Brian joined the Dragon

Audio team of the Mandarins Drum & Bugle Corps, working on their production “Vieux Carré.”


He is excited to continue his work with the Mandarins in 2025.
