Mandarins Parade Corps

The Mandarins Parade Corps gives young performers ages 11–17 the opportunity to build confidence, develop performance skills, and experience the excitement of performing, right in the heart of the Sacramento region.

Featuring percussion and color guard, the Parade Corps is designed for performers of all experience levels; no prior experience is necessary. Our staff will help members learn the fundamentals, grow as performers, and become part of the Mandarins performing arts community.

Rehearsals are held at the Mandarins Event Center, with instruments and equipment provided.

Vince Hjerpe

Vince Hjerpe (Mr. H) has been involved in the drumline activity for more than twenty years. He is alumni of Bella Vista Highschool and was a snare drummer for the Mandarins in 2006. After graduating high school Mr. H enlisted in the Marine Corps and became a performing member of the Commandant's Own until 2012. He has also performed in an NFL drumline with the Philadelphia Eagles and an NBA drumline with the Sacramento Kings. Mr. H has a bachelors of music education from Sacramento State and is currently a full-time teacher at Lodi Unified School District. He will graduate with a masters degree in education this spring.
