Creative Director / Color Guard Caption Manager / Choreographer / Designer

Mario originally from Kansas City Missouri and now a resident of Chino hills, California has a true passion for the performing arts. While still in high school, he began his instructional career as a choreographer for multiple groups in Southern California. Soon after, his passion for creating led him to directing groups in Southern California as well as designing, choreographing, and consulting for groups in Texas, Indiana, and Northern California. In 2006, he founded Diamante Winterguard. In 2008, Diamante won the WGI Independent Open Class silver medal. They have since been a seven-time Independent World Class finalist. In 2016, Diamante had two competitive units and placed seventh in both the Independent World and Independent Open classifications. Mario is currently the director, choreographer, and a designer for Diamante World, Ayala high school Scholastic world.Mario received a major in apparel manufacturing and fashion design from FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.) In 2002, he founded M.Ra Couture, a costuming company that currently creates and designs costumes for numerous color guards, drum lines, dance teams, and marching bands across the country, including WGI World Class percussion champions Ayala HS, WGI Scholastic World Guard James Logan HS, and WGI Independent finalist Diamante World and Open. Drum Corp credits include: Impulse Drum and Bugle Corps (2004 Division II Finalist), Mystikal Drum and Bugle Corps in 2005 and 2008, Impulse (2006 DCI Division III gold medalist, as well as the high auxiliary winner), and Gold Drum and Bugle Corps as a designer and color guard caption head from 2011-2013. He is currently the Artistic Director, Colorguard Caption, Designer, and choreographer for Mandarins drum and bugle corps.Performance credits include: Nogales High School percussion and color guard, Mt. Sac Dance Program, Solution Performance Ensemble, Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps, Pacific Crest World Guard, Yamato Drum and Bugle Corps, RCC Marching Tigers, Fantasia Winterguard, and Diamante Winterguard.Mario is very active in the pageantry community. He currently holds a seat in both the WGI and WGASC Color Guard Advisory Boards. To further share his creativity and passion he does Design Clinician commentary for WGASC. He currently instructs, designs, choreographs, and consults for multiple programs in California and Texas as a Color Guard Caption Head and Creative Director for Paramount HS, Color Guard Caption Head and Creative Director for Ayala HS, Designer and Choreographer for WGI gold medalist Stockdale HS, and the Creative Director, Designer, Color Guard Caption Head and Choreographer for the 2020 Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps.

Brandi Ramirez, originally from Anaheim, California and now a resident of Chino Hills, California started her love for the activity at Ball Junior High School. Brandi is an alumni of the award-winning Loara High School Color Guard, where she was a guard member and a captain. After graduating, Brandi was hired as the guard technician and got her first color guard into WGI Finals. Brandi has worked with many programs such as Hart High School, Fountain Valley High School, Norco High School, Rancho Santa Margarita High School, Stockdale High School, Ayala High School and Diamante Independent Open and World. Brandi is not only the Lead technician to all of this programs but also a designer and one of the biggest reasons for the success of Stockdale High School, Diamante World, and Ayala High School. Brandi is also one of the design consultants for Mandarins drum and bugle corps and the lead technician for the Colorguard.Mario and Brandi Ramirez are super excited for the opportunity to work together with the fantastic Revere ind open team, and staff for the 2020 season.

Manny Ruiz

Movement, Fitness and the Marching Arts have always been a passion and a career for Manny. In addition to working on his MS in Exercise Psychology at CSUF, Manny spends his time teaching colorguard and working for Crunch Fitness and UFC Gym as a nationally certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor in many disciplines and modalities.Teaching and Design Credits include various New Mexico, Texas and Southern CA High School organizations including Woodbridge HS, Chino HS and Ayala HS. Additional choreography and consulting includes Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets, Gold Drum and Bugle Corps, Black Crown Independent and Diamante.Performance Credits include: RCC Marching Tigers, Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps, Solution Performance Ensemble, Corona, and Diamante as well as Student and Faculty Dance Concerts at Riverside Community College.Manny looks forward to working with the Instructional Staff and talented members of the Mandarins Organization this summer as they field an incredible and innovative production.

Roberto Morales

Roberto Morales comes to us from Los Angeles California! He had been involved with the fine arts for over 10 years and specializes in training performers to find their full potential through the realm of movement and dance. Marching Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps, Diamanté Winter Guard and Fantasia Winter Guard, these organizations provided the backbone of Morales' pedagogy, and his principles drive from these amazing organizations. His formal dance education comes from Mount San Antonio College and various professional studios in Los Angeles & Switzerland! Not limiting himself to one area of the arts, Morales has appeared in commercials, stage performances, small ensemble dances, Independent films, and even the hit TV show “Glee!" Some groups in collaboration with Morales include Ayala High School, Rancho Cucamonga High School, Arcadia High School, The Academy Drum & Bugle Corps, Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps, Vox Atrium Winter Guard, and Relentless Independent.On his free time you can find Morales upside down on a yoga mat where he working on his next path towards becoming a yoga teacher!

Keila Crook has been a Color Guard instructor in Southern California since graduating from Alhambra High School in 2013. She was introduced to the activity in 2009 where she began her performance career that continues today. She has worked with numerous groups in Southern California but is currently a tech at Ayala High School. She is also about to embark on her fourth summer as a color guard technician with the Sacramento Mandarins drum and bugle corps.Keila was introduced to the independent performance activity in 2012 where she marched with the Sacramento Mandarins color guard. Since graduating, she performed with the Pasadena City College color guard and Ayanna Winterguard in 2014 and 2015. Keila is now on her fifth year as a member and captain of Diamante Winterguard which is under the direction of Mario and Brandi Ramirez.

I was first introduced to Colorguard my Sophomore year where I was under the direction of Manny Ruiz. Before joining the Colorguard at Summit High School I was a Violist for the Orchestra program. Shortly after graduation, I auditioned for the Diamante World Organization and marched under the Direction of Mario and Brandi Ramirez for 3 consecutive years from 2012-2014. I was also a part of the RCC Marching Band in 2012, 2016 and 2017, and had the pleasure of being a Cast Member for the 2013 Rose Parade. I had the opportunity to perform with the Black Crown Winterguard organization for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. I also dedicated my summer of 2015 with the Gold Drum and Bugle Corps.Throughout the years I’ve had the privilege to instruct at Summit High School, Fontana High School, A.B Miller High School, P.V. Peninsula High School, Glendale High School, Arroyo High School, Montclair High School, Woodbridge High School, Bellflower High School, Chino High School and the Gold Drum and Bugle Corps. I am currently the Colorguard Director at Fontana H.S and Montclair H.S.Being with Mandarins this summer is something I look forward to greatly.

Jasmine has been a Color Guard instructor in Southern California since graduating from Montebello High School in 2011. She has worked with groups such as Montebello High School, Bell Gardens High School and is currently working at Paramount High school and Ayala High School.Jasmine was introduced to the independent performance activity in 2012 where she marched 4 years with Diamante Independent World under the direction of Mario and Brandi Ramirez. During the Winter of 2016, she marched Black Crown Independent Open. She was then introduced to DCI where she marched Gold Drum and Bugle Corp in 2012, she then was promoted a captain 2013 & 2014, then she decided to head into World Class with Santa Clara Vanguard in 2015 where she aged out. Jasmine also participated in 2017 Rose Parade with SCV.Jasmine is very excited to be a part of the 2020 Mandarins.
