Alex Hedden is excited to serve on the Mandarins Visual Team for the 2026 season! He brings ten years of music education experience, along with a diverse background teaching and performing in the drum corps activity.
Alex is currently in his fifth year as the Assistant Band Director and Marching Band Director at Dickinson High School in Houston, Texas. During his tenure at Dickinson, the program has advanced to the UIL 6A State Marching Band Contest every year and has earned finalist appearances at multiple Bands of America regional competitions.
Although primarily a saxophone player, Alex was a member of the Carolina Crown hornline as a euphonium player from 2014–2016, and has served on the staffs of several world class drum corps since aging out.
As a visual technician with the Mandarins, Alex is excited to contribute his experience as an educator, performer, and marching arts instructor to the corps while continuing to grow alongside a talented instructional team and membership.
