Christian Arteaga serves as an Assistant Brass Caption Head for the Sacramento Mandarins.
Christian Arteaga is a Texas Music Educator, serving as the Associate Director of Bands and Coordinator of Marching Arts at Summer Creek High School in Houston, Texas.
Originally from the Rio Grande Valley, Christian earned both his Bachelor of Music Education, with an emphasis in trumpet, and his Master of Music in Wind Conducting from Texas A&M University–Kingsville. His experience spans wind band, marching band, and drum corps, with teaching and performance opportunities throughout South Texas & Houston.
Christians Drum Corps experience includes marching with The Cavaliers in 2017, serving on the brass staff at Compass in 2021, Genesis in 2023, and as an Assistant Brass Caption Head at The Academy. His performance and teaching experiences also include the ensemble division of the National Trumpet Competition and the Texas Music Educators Association convention.
Christian is dedicated to helping students grow as musicians and individuals through meaningful musical experiences. He is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
