Coby Pizzotti is a senior-level government affairs and lobbying professional with nearly 30 years of experience in California state government, public affairs, association management, and political strategy. He is the founder and principal of CKP Consulting & Strategy, a Sacramento-based firm dedicated to helping public agencies, labor organizations, and mission-driven clients navigate the legislative and political landscape to turn policy goals into results at the California Capitol.
Throughout his career, Coby has built a reputation as a trusted advocate and strategic thinker with deep expertise in legislative advocacy, regulatory engagement, coalition building, and campaign strategy. He has cultivated strong professional relationships with Members of the Legislature, legislative staff, lobbyists, and policy-makers across the labor, public safety, law enforcement, and public agency sectors.
Before founding CKP Consulting & Strategy, Coby was a partner at Lyles, Wiesmann and Pizzotti, where he provided strategic planning, legislative advocacy, political consulting, and labor representation for the California Association of Psychiatric Technicians (CAPT). As CAPT’s chief lobbyist, he represented more than 5,000 state-employed healthcare professionals at the Capitol, testifying before legislative committees on issues related to public employee labor, safety, wages, and working conditions. He also led advocacy efforts on state hospital safety, developmental center closures, and professional licensing matters, while advising CAPT’s Board of Directors and Political Action Committee on political campaigns and independent expenditures.
Earlier in his career, Coby served as a legislative and political consultant in the California State Assembly, working for four legislators including Assembly Speakers Herb Wesson and Fabian Núñez, and later as a political advocate for the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association. Over the decades, he has developed and advanced major public policy initiatives, drafted legislation, and secured millions in state funding for client priorities.
