Dan, aka “Dr. Dan” is the President and CEO of the Mandarins of Sacramento, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission statement is to “transform lives through performing arts.” His tenure as President and CEO started in April 2021.
Dr. Dan has been a Mandarins board member as well as Director of Health and Wellness since 2017. As CEO, he oversees the operations of the Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps, Immortal Winds Indoor Ensemble, Mandarins Music Academy, Bingo, Mandarins Pathways (serving incarcerated youth), Mandarins Entertainment, and the Capital Classic Drum Corps Show. Dr. Dan was member of the Sacramento Mandarins for nine years. He received the Most Outstanding member in 1981. Dan has written every Mandarins field show brass chart from 1982 until 2011 and was the Mandarins’ Brass Caption Head three times from 1982 to 2016.
Dr. Dan has been practicing optometry for 37 years and has been in private practice since 1991. He lives in Sacramento with his wife Patricia.
