Based in Sunnyvale, California, Jeff brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the marching arts activity in Northern California. He began his drum corps career with the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets in 2012 as a visual technician, later serving as Visual Caption Manager from 2019 through 2022. In 2022, he joined the visual staff of the Santa Clara Vanguard, and subsequently joined the Spartans in 2023 as a visual technician before stepping into the role of Caption Manager for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
Locally, Jeff is heavily invested in the Bay Area community. He works as a visual technician/caption head and choreographer for Cupertino, Los Gatos and Santa Clara High Schools, and writes drill for Los Gatos, Santa Clara, and Del Mar High Schools. He has also served as Co-Director and Visual Caption Head for Cupertino High School's Winter Percussion for the past two seasons. Across his 19-year teaching career in the Bay Area, his most notable achievements include helping guide Lynbrook High School to multiple BOA Northern California Regional Finals appearances between 2015 and 2018.
Looking toward the future, Jeff is excited to cultivate a new wave of educators and help build and sustain a thriving culture in California through the Mandarins. He understands the dedication required to uphold the drum corps' recent success and is ready for the journey ahead.
