Kathleen’s involvement with the Mandarins began as a parent volunteer in 2012. Since then, she has taken on many responsibilities, including fundraising, grant procurement, legal counsel advise, Whistle Blowing committee creation and numerous direct corps related activities (e.g., prop design, souvenir operations/online store, transportation, food operations, etc.). Â

Kathleen played a key role in the purchase of the Mandarins Event Center and launching of the Capital Classic show. As a Board of Directors member, she serves on the Executive, Finance and Governance committees. She was named to Mandarins Hall of Fame in 2020 and was Drum Corps International Volunteer of the Year in 2022. Â

Kathleen was a family law attorney for 33 years in the state of California, focusing on cases involving domestic violence, custody, jurisdictional issues, child abuse and gay rights. She was president for several law organizations and received numerous awards in Fresno County for her volunteer efforts.Â

She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Master Degrees in Psychology and Grant Writing and Management and a Juris Doctorate. She is a published author, a licensed pilot, and fiber artist.Â
