Mandarins Performing Arts to host 2026 DCI Capital Classic

Drum Corps’ Finest returns to Northern California on July 3, 2026!

Sacramento, Calif., May 12, 2026–  Mandarins Performing Arts is proud to announce that the DCI (Drum Corps International) Capital Classic is returning for 2026. Located at Oak Ridge High School in El Dorado Hills, the DCI Capital Classic is an unforgettable drum corps event that features some of the nation’s top marching ensembles. On Friday, July 3, witness the innovative creativity and talent of these groups in breathtaking performances! 

The show will feature performances from the 2024 DCI World Champion Bluecoats, the 2025 DCI Bronze medalist Santa Clara Vanguard, The Academy from Tempe, Arizona, Seattle Cascades from Washington, and three other nationally acclaimed corps from California.

The 2026 DCI Capital Classic will feature two very special guest performances from the Sacramento Mandarins Alumni Corps and Sparta Ignite. With nine groups performing, this will certainly be an unforgettable experience for all! Along with these performances, the event will also feature local food trucks for delicious meals and vendor booths from most of the performing ensembles. 

"This year marks the 13th year that Mandarins Performing Arts is presenting the DCI Capital Classic drum corps show. It has become known nationwide as one of the premier drum corps shows in the nation," said Dr. Dan Fong, Mandarins President & CEO. “While several of these corps compete for the international championship each year, this is also a grand stage to celebrate performing arts throughout the region, with many of these musicians coming from our community! Whether you’re a hard-core drum corps enthusiast or a casual lover of music, this show promises to have a spectacular, memorable effect on our audience.” 

This show is one of many initiatives/events that the Mandarins have been involved in, providing opportunities to the community for over 60 years, with thousands involved in their initiatives. Other programs include the Mandarins Music Academy, Mandarins Music Center, and Mandarins Entertainment, all serving at-risk and special-needs youth and designed to give the gift of music back to youth in the greater Sacramento area.
